You guys! I was nominated by Novel Blondes for the Sunshine Blogger Award! Novel Blondes is just like me ~ focusing on book reviews and travel. It was so awesome to find another blog with the same nicheless “attitude” as myself. To be nominated for an award based on a blog that is creative, positive, and inspiring to other bloggers is just so amazing and I’m honored that someone loves my blog as much as I do!
Here are the rules:
- Thank the Blogger who nominated you for the blog post add their link to your post.
- Answer the 11 questions which your nominator asked you.
- Nominate up to 11 new bloggers for the award and write them 11 new questions for the same.
- Let your nominees know that they have been nominated.
- List the rules and add the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post.
A Court of Crowns and Quills — I mean honestly, that name is just so perfect. Which is really what grabbed my attention the first time around. But honestly, the book reviews are stellar, I always gets excited when I see a new one up!
Travel with Nano B — this blog is one of those that gives me inspiration to keep traveling. Not only are the pictures gorgeous but I love the little tidbits on restaurants/food
JW Martin this blog literally has everything! It’s what I aspire to do — there’s so much to this blog than just book reviews, but topics on movies, tv and even videogames!
The Eternal Traveller like Travel with Nanon B, I love the pictures and adventures The Eternal Traveller has. I wish I did as much travel! Including an awesome post about walking through London that I used last month when visiting.
Literary Lion — I love this blog. It’s concise, right to the point and honest. The page is so easy to navigate too — it’s an inspiration all around.
Wild About Scotland — first off, I’m wild about Scotland and I’ve never been there! This blog definitely helps with the enthusiasm. It has a lot to offer — like different hikes (which I can’t wait to do more of on this blog), and camping all related to Scotland. I mean honestly, if you’re looking for a trip to Scotland you need to check out this blog. I love that a lot of the blog is based on the non-touristy areas — something I’m all for!
Novel Blondes Questions:
What do you love the most about blogging? This is such a hard question, I think what I love about blogging is how much it’s helped me with my goals — whether it’s with my writing style, reading habits, money saving techniques or travel, I have found me in this blog.
Is it a hobby or you are pursuing it as a profession? If hobby, do you plan to be a full-time professional blogger? It’s definitely a hobby, but I wouldn’t say I’m against pursuing it a little bit more as a profession. I don’t think I would ever quit my day job but if I can find a good balance between both, I’ll do it!
What inspired you to begin blogging? It honestly started when I was bored and a little lonely in Vermont, I needed something to do — so my friend gave me the idea to start a blog. I wasn’t super motivated but once I figured out my few true topics of interest it really took off.
If you could give advice to other bloggers, what would it be? There are going to be times when you don’t feel like blogging and that’s okay. I used to think I had to force myself to do it but I’ve learned when I did that, it only made it worse! Also– only blog about things you’re passionate about
What are you currently reading? Sarah’s Key
What do you do to promote your blogs? I used to promote a bunch of different ways but it was too much pressure. Now you can find me on instagram promoting my blog (pictures say it all!), litsy, goodreads and facebook. Those are really my main places.
How do you make the time to blog consistently? I just blog whenever I get the inspiration, and if I can’t at that very moment, I at least write down the topic so I have it for later. I used to try and post every other day but it was too much, now it’s 3 times a week and it feels so much better.
What is your favorite motto or quote and why? “For where all love is, the speaking is unnecessary, it is undying and it is enough.” I love this quote partly because I relate to it so much. I’m not one that really says my feelings to my boyfriend, mom, friends etc but I hope that what I do shows them how much I care.
Do you have a particular cause you support, and if so what is that? The American Cancer Society is a cause dear to my heart. I know so many people who have had cancer, my dad passed away from it and I find any way to help. Whether that be donating my hair for wigs through Pantene Beautiful Lengths, donating or participating in Relay For Life, I always try to find a way.
What’s your favorite piece of LIFE advice? You can’t worry about something you can’t control. My dad used to say that all the time, and he definitely lived by it. I try to but it’s really hard, I’m always thinking of the worse and the if’s in moments but whenever I think of that and him saying it, it calms me a bit.
