Author: Chip & Joanna Gaines
Pages: Kindle Edition: 191 pgs
Goodreads Synopsis: “The Magnolia Story is the first book from Chip and Joanna, offering their fans a detailed look at their life together. From the very first renovation project they ever tackled together, to the project that nearly cost them everything; from the childhood memories that shaped them, to the twists and turns that led them to the life they share on the farm today. They both attended Baylor University in Waco. However, their paths did not cross until Chip checked his car into the local Firestone tire shop where Joanna worked behind the counter. Even back then Chip was a serial entrepreneur who, among other things, ran a lawn care company, sold fireworks, and flipped houses. Soon they were married and living in their first fixer upper. Four children and countless renovations later, Joanna garners the attention of a television producer who notices her work on a blog one day.”
As a Prime Member, this book was available for a read. I was in a reading phase where I really wasn’t sure what to pick up next so I decided to give this a try. I mean, I love watching Fixer Upper and I love Chip & Joanna so why would I not try this one?
“Go and find what it is that inspires you, go and find what it is that you love, and go do that until it hurts.”The Magnolia Story, page 182
Anyway, if you’ve watched Fixer Upper you will love this story. This is the story of how Chip & Joanna met, how they struggled for so long to get to where they are and how they worked together for their goals with each other. It really shows that hard work, love and support from your friends and family really can make all the difference. Narrated mainly by Joanna, with Chip chiming in at certain times, this story is them. I mean, I could hear them in my head while I was reading this and couldn’t help to smile through it all.
