Author: Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison

The Lochlan Treaty Series

Goodreads Synopsis: “The black X of the Aramach Rebels marks the spot Princess Charlotte’s life was destroyed. Her fiance taken and her kingdom on the brink of war because of it, Charlie refuses to be the damsel in distress and takes matters into her own hands. She can only trust a handful of people as hints of a conspiracy are uncovered. Leaving her castle and everything she’s ever known behind, Charlie ventures into a place she only thought she knew — her own kingdom. In the face of traitors and thieves and ruthless rebels, Charlie won’t be stopped on her mission to set things right and find her prince. The only question is: Will she find him before it’s too late? “

Review: Wow! This was such a fun read. Starting off quickly, that never stops to exist. In fact, it’s what kept this story one I couldn’t put down. Charlie seems like she’s growing into a heroine I’M going to adore, while I cannot wait to learn more about Logan and determine if Oli is who he says he is.

“You should never be ashamed of your scars. That’s the proof you have of surviving the monsters who thought they were stronger than you.”

I love that you learn a little bit about the history of these characters as the story progresses rather than in the beginning which helped to keep this story fast paced through it all. I was so bummed when I got to the end, I wanted to keep reading! Seriously, when is the next one? This is a quick read too, so if you’re in a slump and need something to get you out of it, this is the story for you.

‘Son, there will always be horrors in this world. Ye aren’t doing those who have died any favors by refusing to live.’”

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars
