Book Review: Vengeful

Author: V.E. Schwab

Villains #2 , Pages: 480

Goodreads Synopsis: “Sydney once had Serena—beloved sister, betrayed enemy, powerful ally. But now she is alone, except for her thrice-dead dog, Dol, and then there’s Victor, who thinks Sydney doesn’t know about his most recent act of vengeance.

Victor himself is under the radar these days—being buried and re-animated can strike concern even if one has superhuman powers. But despite his own worries, his anger remains. And Eli Ever still has yet to pay for the evil he has done

Review: Let’s start with how much I loved Vicious and Victor Vale. I get it, I probably shouldn’t have loved Victor Vale as much as I did but there was something about the character that I truly loved. I also really liked Sydney and Mitch. The problem with Vengeful was that there wasn’t enough of Victor, Sydney and Mitch. There were too many other characters and I found it really hard to pick up. It wasn’t until page 350 where I felt like I was back to reading the characters I liked so much. Sure the new EO’s — Marcella, and June were interesting but it wasn’t what I expected or wanted at all. It’s an unfortunate end to the first story, in fact, in a way, I would have enjoyed just book one with it ending as it did.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars
